Welcome to Madawaska Valley Hospice

Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care (MVHPC) is a free support service for individuals and their families who are faced with a life limiting condition.  Palliative care can begin even when active treatments are still ongoing and studies prove that earlier palliative support can greatly improve quality of life. Our Clinical Director will assess the unique needs of the person and develop a fluid plan of care that addresses all levels of need at each stage of the illness.

The patient and their family will have the benefit of a close relationship with the staff who will, on their behalf, help arrange services as needed from the appropriate health care agencies. This service is supported by a dedicated group of trained volunteers.

MVHPC offers support in your home (visiting hospice palliative care), wherever that may be – your home, a family members home, seniors apartments, long term care home, or in our 2 bed hospice unit (residential hospice).

Caregiver support is one to one and available to anyone who requests assisstance.

Bereavement support is available for a minimum of one year to loved ones following a death.
